Straight up, you'll never have more fun cracking a classic than with Bax and his pals. With a Calvin & Hobbes taste for mischief and a Magic School Bus hunger for discovery, Bax leads us into the words & worlds of Melville, Dickens, Bronte and more -- all while navigating the intellectual rivalry he has with his BFF, Marla!

Our flagship book series, "A Great Big Book for Bax," is now in production at Vooks.com, featuring Moby Dick, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, and more.  Next on the slate is an animated TV series, extolling "new adventures and timeless tales!"  Looking ahead, we're excited to expand our definition of "classics," with products that introduce kids to great and forgotten music and cinema, keeping our cultural treasures alive!

Book ONE:  A Great Big Book for Bax.  When things get a little too predictable in Mr. Nettipot's reading class, Bax and his pals beg to see an old, mysterious book on the tip top shelf.  When Nettipot resists, the kids improvise.  But does the savvy teacher have a scheme of his own?  Features story elements and some memorable passages from Melville's "Moby Dick."  Art by Kim Gilbert and Steven Marten.

Book TWO: Marla Meets a Magwitch.  When Bax’s pal, Marla, tricks Bax into being the Fairy Godmother in her playroom production of “Cinderella,” Bax claims what Cinderella really needs is a Magwitch, sending them on a suspenseful excursion into the heart of Dicken’s tender and mysterious novel, "Great Expectations."  Features stunning art by Marco Bucci.

Book THREE: Bax and the Very Spooky Surprise.  It’s “Scary Story Night” at Bax’s house, and his babysitter is giving it all she’s got!  Refusing to be out-ghosted however, Bax grabs Bronte’s epic, "Jane Eyre," summoning the specters of Gateshead and Thornfield. Everything goes as planned until Bax realizes Jane Eyre is actually a story of LOVE!
(Eeek! Now that’s scary!)

Coming soon:  Frankenstein, The Secret Garden, and Ivanhoe!
